Depop Live

Depop Live was an immersive shopping event bringing the best of Depop to real life.

For the first at such a scale, visitors had the opportunity to shop popular Depop sellers in real life – including high profile brands such as Telfar and No Sesso – could customise their clothes with the help of prolific creators and learn through talks with some of the fashion industry’s most exciting voices.

My role: copy lead, concept, programming, creative execution + delivery

Re/ Sourced, was a curated line of vintage Ralph Lauren pieces sourced by Depop sellers celebrating the longevity and versatility of the legendary American brand and the creativity of the sellers who source it.

The collection was sold on Depop and in Ralph Lauren’s European flagship store on Bond Street. This partnership marked the first time the American heritage entered the resale genre.

My role: copy lead, concept, creative execution + delivery

In a world where price is often considered the only value a resale platform can offer the public, we developed an approach to digital and VOD ads that spoke to the true value of a platform like Depop – the value of shopping peer-to-peer. 

This suite of ads put the US Depop community front-and-centre allowing them to express their love for the platform and share their experience to a mass audience.

My role: concept, script, VO direction, creative execution + delivery

Building on Depop’s status as a cult destination for style lovers, we teamed up with Charli XCX to help build trust in the platform as a space to shop unique fashion from some of the world’s biggest pop stars. 

To emphasise the peer-to-peer nature of the app, we chose to feature Charli alongside footage of other Depop community members to mirror the casual interactions that take place on the platform.

For summer 2022, Depop celebrated the return of festival season by creating a series of esoteric billboards by leaning into the trends with imagined band names inspired by the iconic/ bizarre trends created on the platform by its community of buyers and sellers.

As a community-led platform, it was important that the full plan and the launch communications could be understood by anyone curious about Depop's vision, without falling into the trap of greenwashing or downplaying the ripple effects of the company's direction.

To launch Monki’s sustainability plan in 2017, we created 1-800-lazy-eco. Playing on the idea that girl talk is often dismissed as frivolous and challenging the perception of how people who care about the planet look, we created a film where friends lazily swap information over the phone about how to think about the planet while caring for their clothes.

My role: concept, script, VO direction, creative execution + delivery
